Our Culture

As our office open-floor plan suggests, collaboration and teamwork are essential to the success of GDC. We have found that when we bounce ideas and contribute our expertise, we push each other to create the best designs and solutions for our clients and communities. We regularly take field trips to spatially experience and discuss what works – or doesn’t work – and incorporate what we learn into our designs. Communication and teamwork are key!

This spirit of engagement extends beyond the office walls. We work hard, but we also know how to play hard. At the end of a hard week of planning and designing, we eat “Friday lunches” together. We look forward to celebrating birthdays, office outings, and our much-anticipated Christmas parties. Our down-to-earth company culture ensures that we have fun while we get things done!

Nick Bevis

Project Designer

Nick was born and raised on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture. Throughout his time in school, he worked different summer jobs/internships from residential design and installation to maintenance. He even got to spend a summer at Disney World working in the horticulture department. Shortly after graduation, he found himself starting his career back out in Orlando, Florida. Working on projects from single/multi-family communities to healthcare. Involved in the design process from conceptual design all the way to construction documentation.

Nick found his love for design in high school. In the process of searching for a design-based majors, like architecture and building construction science, he stumbled upon landscape architecture. After speaking with the Dean of Students and touring their facilities, he really saw this a unique approach to art and design. He saw landscape architecture as the ability to create safe spaces for people to enjoy. In life gets hard on everyone, so we all need that place to get away from everything and just enjoy the outdoors.

Nick spends his free time being active from exploring the city, checking out local restaurants and parks, to playing sports, like golf, soccer, and tennis. Nick also enjoys getting together with friends and family to watch live music or cheer on the Mississippi StateBulldogs.

Kaleb Baker

Project Designer

Originally from Grenada, Mississippi, Kaleb graduated from Mississippi State University with a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Contracting. Out of college, he moved to Nashville and gained a year of office experience with a design firm before joining the GDC team. In the 6 months he had been here, he has helped take hand drawn concept plans to AutoCAD, render designs in photoshop, and draft landscape plans, among other things.

When not in the office, Kaleb is either rearranging the house, playing one of my many instruments or playing a video game. He owns electric guitars, acoustic guitars, banjos, a dobro, a seagull merlin, and kalimbas. He loves board games, going fishing, and hanging out outside when the weather is nice. He has been with his girlfriend, Katelyn, for 5 years. We met at Mississippi State, and she is a Communications Manager at Greater Nashville Apartment Association. She is also a painter and photographer.

Keli Frymire

Landscape Architect

Keli is a registered Landscape Architect and project manager who joined GDC in early 2013 (and again in 2019 after a quick trip to the public sector).  She attended Auburn University where she earned her bachelor’s in Environmental Design (2001) and Masters in Landscape Architecture (2004). Her professional experience includes residential and mixed-use master plans, rezoning and entitlement packages, and project/ construction management. She has a passion for creating community spaces and has enjoyed participating in the design and implementation of small neighborhood parks, community multi-use paths, and playgrounds.

Her strong attention to detail and project management background provides the experience to see the details constructed.  In addition to her private sector experience, she has worked as a Senior Planner/Urban Designer for a County Government.  She currently volunteers her time as the Chair of the Walton County Design Review Board (2019-current).

During her time in the public sector, Keli assisted in updating Zoning and Comprehensive Plan documents and was the lead planner for a Neighborhood Planning Program.  This program facilitated the creation and revision of area specific plans along the 30A corridor.  She was also the County liaison to community groups such as Scenic Walton and The Friends of Scenic 30A.

Keli currently designs Middle Tennessee from her home in Freeport, FL.  When she’s not in the office, Keli can usually be found exploring the outdoors with her husband and two children.  While the kids aren’t quite ready for their own kayaks, they are great passengers and also share Keli’s love of the water.

Drake Reeder

Landscape Architect

mailto:[email protected]

Drake is a native to Alabama where he became the third generation Auburn University graduate. At Auburn he received his BS in Horticulture and continued on to get his MLA. He has been in the industry for four years and started his career in residential design/build working in both Memphis, TN and Huntsville, AL.

Drake is passionate about the phrase “Design Everything,” from the minute details up to large-scale planning – each project and site having its own identity and uncommon features ready to be unearthed. No matter the scale, each site offers different opportunities that can be explored to create truly unique spaces for people to enjoy.

Drake’s love of the outdoors also extends to his hobbies as well. Whether it is hiking, camping, kayaking, golfing, or fishing, you know you will find him outdoors when he is not working. This passion for the outdoors is something he shares with his wife, Taylor, whom he met at Auburn and his son, James. If he can’t be outside, you can find him playing guitar or dabbling in various art projects.

Julie Jones

Horticulture Specialist

Julie has always had a passion for the outdoors. It is her love of the outdoors that has been the driving force behind her chosen career. Julie graduated Suma Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Plant Sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After a short time designing residential landscapes in Chattanooga, TN, she joined GDC in 2015 and became an ISA Certified Arborist soon after. Julie is an integral part of GDC, as her knowledge of plants is second to none!

Even though Franklin is Julie’s hometown, she loves to travel and has visited over 10 countries around the world – most recently to India on a mission trip with her church. She is a huge foodie, and if you need a restaurant recommendation in the Nashville area, she is the person to ask! Julie has many interests – cooking, reading, visiting farmer’s markets – but her favorite is spending time with her sweet nephew and twin nieces!

Matt Huff

Landscape Architect

mailto:[email protected]

Matt is a planner and project manager for GDC. For over 10 years with the company, Matt has worked alongside surveyors, engineers, and architects, and has developed a great understanding of how to best achieve the desires of the client by efficiently coordinating the efforts of the design team.  Matt specializes in the initial design and conceptual stage of the project where selling an idea is paramount. His art and graphic design background provide him the skill to identify and convey important themes and imagery of a plan effectively through both hand and computer-generated graphics.

A true Nashville native, Matt has an inherent interest in the success and smart growth of the community that he has always called home.  His fondness for art came from classes and extracurriculars he participated in at Brentwood High School which, combined with his love for the outdoors, led him to the University of Kentucky’s Landscape Architecture program.

While at UK Matt met his wife Melissa who is a Nurse Practitioner in Franklin where they now live.  In August of 2022, Matt and Melissa welcomed their sweet daughter Sutton into the world.  Once an avid outdoorsman, Matt now spends his free time a little differently, but hopes to soon begin introducing Sutton to the same fun activities that helped shape him.

Jeff Rosiak

Landscape Architect

mailto:[email protected]

Jeff was thrilled to join the GDC team in 2017 where he re-connected with his friend and former colleague, Greg Gamble.  Since growing up in Michigan, Jeff moved around a bit before earning his BSLA from the University of Kentucky and settling in Middle Tennessee.  Jeff has over 20 years of experience as a Landscape Architect in the Nashville Market.

His favorite aspect of the Landscape Architecture field is creating and experiencing people places.  Jeff finds inspiration in how people enjoy open spaces of all scales from a tiny garden plot, to a vibrant mixed-use developments, to massive master-planned communities.  Whether projects are where people live, work, or recreate, Jeff strives to create casual spaces that are comfortable, fun, and memorable – the exact sorts of places he would want to spend time and take his family.
